Graceful Ferns

There is a new card kit being released at Taylored Expressions today. When your loved ones need you the most, you’ll be sure to have just the right card on hand with our beautiful Graceful Ferns Cardmaking Kit. Whether you need to send your condolences right away or reach out with words of encouragement and support after some time has passed, the cards you create with this kit will be perfect for sharing your heartfelt sympathy.

Here are my first two cards with the kit. I used a mix of TE Liquid Watercolors and TE Ink to color my two cards.

The leaves on my first card are die cut from watercolor Cardstock with the Graceful Ferns Die, included in the kit. I used TE Liquid Watercolor in Spearmint and Sweet Basil and then splattered  the leaves lightly with gold paint. I tied the three stems together with twine. Behind the leaves I cut a rectangle of Salt Water Taffy Cardstock and added clouds with the Set the Scene - Cloud Strips, a TE Blunder Brush, and Confetti Cake Ink.

Behind the clouds I added a panel of Toffee Cardstock stamped with the Shiplap Background Stamp. The sentiment is stamped with the The Inside Scoop – Sympathy stamp set and die cut with the die in the kit.

My second card features the Leafy Frond Stamps and Die from the kit. I stamped the solid frond in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE Embossing Powder. Next I stamped the outline of the leaf in Versamark Ink, embossed with TE Gold Embossing powder and watercolored with Lime Zest and Peapod Liquid Watercolor.

To create the background I cut a piece of watercolor cardstock to fit the card front and watercolored the panel in Blue Corn Liquid Watercolor. Once the paper was dry I stenciled over watercoloring with the Wild Willow Stencil and Blue Corn Ink. The sentiment from the kit is stamped in Versamark Ink on vellum and embossed with gold embossing powder. I framed the card with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate.

Our Graceful Ferns Kit comes in a zippered pouch with a custom sticker and includes:

Graceful Ferns stamp set
Graceful Ferns Dies
The Inside Scoop – Sympathy stamp set
Leafy Frond Die
A2 Envelope Pack (6 envelopes; 1 each of Jelly Donut, Peapod, Salt Water Taffy, Sugar Cube, Sweet Basil and Toffee)
Envelope Seal Pack (6 seals; 2 each of 3 designs)
Limited quantity available

PLEASE NOTE:
The vast majority of the individual items included in our cardmaking kits will not be available to purchase individually in the future. While we may, on rare occasions, release a kit item into our regular inventory at a later time, this will no longer be an option for the majority of the products. Instead, they will remain exclusive to the kits and may only be purchased as part of a kit while supplies last.

Since our curated cardmaking kits can sell out quickly, we encourage you to purchase the kits you love when they are released, as they will not be restocked once they have sold out. We intend to release a kit the last Tuesday of each month at 9am (Central), and a sneak preview will be posted on the TE Blog on the Saturday prior to the release.

To be notified of new kit releases, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram! Stay tuned for another fabulous kit next month!

Field Notes Kit 2

Hi All! Today Taylored Expressions is releasing the Field Notes 2 Kit!! The Field Notes 1 Kit included some of my all time favorite stamps so I knew I would love the Field Notes 2 Kit! Lori Craig's illustrations are so pretty! The Field Notes 2 kit features the gorgeous Sketchbook Bouquet and several additional elements.

Here’s everything included the Field Notes 2 Kit – which retails for $55:

  • Sketchbook Bouquet stamp set
  • Sketchbook Bouquet Die
  • Sketchbook Bouquet Stencil
  • Splatter Background stamp
  • 6 Watercolor 111 lb. A2 Cardstock Panels
  • 6 Textured Watercolor A2 Envelopes
  • 6 Custom Envelope Seals
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

I have two cards to share with the kit. I stamped the Sketchbook Bouquet stamp set in Oreo Ink on watercolor paper and used Karin BrushmarkerPRO TE Palette - Taylor's Pick to watercolor the flowers. TE is releasing three palette sets of five BrushmarkerPRO. This is the perfect way to give the Brushmarkers a try without buying a full set!

I die cut the flowers with the Sketchbook Bouquet Die and tied black and white twine around the branches.

I cut a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I blended Granny Smith Ink at the bottom and then used the Set the Scene - Clouds Stencil Strips and Cupcake Ink to create the sky. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set at the bottom and the dots in the background with another stamp in the set. I cut another panel to fit the card front, stamped the stripes, and lightly blended Cupcake Ink.

On my second card I used the BrushmarkerPRO TE Palette - Heather's Picks to watercolor the flowers. I used a Detailer Tip Watercolor Brush (see link below). I like to add a little water to my paper before I add color. I suggest scribbling with you marker on a glass mat and then picking up the color with the watercolor brush.

I cut a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock to fit the card front and blended Sweet Basil Ink around the edges, and stamped with the Splatter Background stamp included in the kit. I think I will get a lot of use out of this stamp! I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets to cut the rectangle in the card front and added a piece of vellum behind the flowers. I added diamond in the background with another stamp in the set along with the sentiment.

Happy Birthday Friend

Hi Everyone and happy Friday! We are celebrating some birthdays this weekend so I was in need of a few birthday cards. Seems like I can never have too many birthday cards in my stash! I created this card with products from Pretty Pink Posh, and one of my favorite flowers stamp sets, the Wild Rose Stamp Set.

I stamped the roses in Versamark Ink on watercolor paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor the flowers and leaves. I images are die cut with the Wild Rose Coordinating Dies

To create the card front I layered strips of paper. First a strip of patterned paper and then a scalloped border cut the with Stitched Borders Dies from black cardstock. Next I cut a strip of pink cardstock and stamped the birthday sentiment from the Fox Friends Stamp Set along the edge of the strip. The sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings Stamp Set and my final touch is a few Midnight Black Jewels.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Daisy Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone! I am popping in today with a pretty, spring birthday card created with the Big Bloom - Daisy Stamp Set. from Taylored Expressions. I have really depleted by birthday card stash so! I need to work on that. I really like having them ready when I need them.

To create the background I cut a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock for the card front. Then I used a Clarity Stencil Brush to add Potato Chip Ink. Next I splattered the paper with watered down gold paint. I stamped the daisy and leaves on watercolor paper with Sugar Cube Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I watercolored the images, let me dry, and die cut with the Big Blooms Daisy Die. I die cut the word "happy" with the Happy Script Die Set from TE Foil Cardstock in Gold. The word "birthday" is from the Friendly Phrases Stamp Set. I stamped on vellum with Versamark Ink and then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The sentiment is die cut with the Double-ended Flag Stacklet Die Set. I finished off the card with a few gold sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions

It's release day at Taylored Expressions! All the new January products are available at the TE web store NOW.  I have two cards to share today showcasing a number of the new products.

My first card features the new Cloud Nine Background Stamp and the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo.

I do love to create my own backgrounds and the new Cloud Nine Background Stamp is prefect for that! I used watercolor paper and my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp the clouds. Because watercolor paper has more texture I like to stamp the image twice and the Misti makes this so easy. I stamped with Sugar Cube Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Next I added color to the background with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Broken China, and Seedless Preserves.

Next I stamped and colored the two unicorns in the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo. At the bottom of the card I added the clouds with the Build-a-Scene Rolling Clouds and stamped a sentiment for the set.

On my second card I am using the new Inspire Watercolor Panels. No stamping, just add color! Here I used Zig Clean Color Markers.

The background is embossed with the new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder and I added the flower in the corner with the Bloomers 1 and Greenery Dies and TE Felt
