Fall Cards with Maya Road

Hi and thanks for stopping by today!  I have two cards to share with you that I created with the upcoming fall holidays in mind. Fall has to be my favorite season and I love working with the deep, rich colors of fall. My cards are created with Maya Road products, including dies and pretty embellishments.

My first card celebrates Halloween. I started with a Blackboard Kraft Mail Tag and layered the tag on patterned paper that was die cut with the largest die in the Smile Frame ATC Die. I embellished the tag with a Resin Fancy Frames in Snow White. The cat is included in the Mini Wood Autumn Day Pieces. I sponged black ink on the cat to add the color.

I created the flower with the Flower Die Set and added a button to the center of the flower. I added two Ken Oliver Vintage Paper Leaves in white behind the flower. I used the Tags & Ticket Die to die cut the sentiment. The card is finished off with a metal bird cage and Resin Mini Mums.

I had Thanksgiving in mind in creating my second card. Here I used a Kraft Tag layered on a panel of deep red paper die cut with the the largest die in the Smile Frame ATC Die. I stamped a sentiment from the Banner Sentiments Stamp Set, cut the sentiment out with scissors, and colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment is attached to a Kraft Scroll Frame Journaling Tags in White

I used three more of the wooden elements in the Mini Wood Autumn Day Pieces, an acorn, a leaf, and a pumpkin, adding color with ink. I think these wooden pieces are so cute! I also added a Vintage Scalloped Frame and a Resin Mini Mums.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope I have inspired you to start creating for fall!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Frosting

Thanks for stopping by today! It is time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Frosting. I hope you get a chance to play along. The LEAD of this challenge will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Inspired by the word frosting I created this tag with the Celebrate Cupcake Die Bundle from Maya Road. The sentiment is also cut with a die from Maya Road, the Fanciful Be Happy Mine Steel Die.  Love the font! I cut the sentiment two time, once from white cardstock and once from a light weight chipboard. I glued the two layers together to add a little more depth to the sentiment and sponged on a pink ink.

I added crystal drops to the cupcake and then cut the flower from felt. I added two Small Vintage Paper Flowers in White and two Leaf Trinket Pins

Pretty Cards with Maya Road Dies

Hi! I have two cards to share with you that I created with some fun Maya Road Dies. Maya Road Dies are one of my favorite MR products! They are so creative, can be used over and over, and work with so many of your crafting projects. Tags, cards scrapbook pages, so many possibilities! And this month Maya Road Dies are on sale!

I love the Typewriter Die! Definitely one of my favorites! I cut the base of the typewriter twice, once from aqua card stock and once from gold card stock. I punched out the die cut keys on the aqua card stock and layered the gold card stock behind it. I used the die set to cut the words "write on" and the sheet of paper in the typewriter. This particular die is a new release and should be available from Maya Road by the end of the month.

Behind the typewriter I used theNotebook Paper Die to cut the notepaper. I finished off the card with a Wood Hashtag Token, an Antique Wood Ruler, a Small Vintage Paper Flower in Red, and a Vintage Ken Oliver Art Supplies metal accent.

For my second card I used the new Flower Die. This die is also a new release and should be available from Maya Road by the end of the month. First I created by background. I used a piece of watercolor paper and blended distress inks together. I misted the paper with water and then splattered on white paint.

I die cut each flower twice and layered them together. I used the dies in the set to cut the leaves, the center of the flowers, and the word "bloom". I also added a Resin Mini Mums in Turquoise Sea and a owl.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to take a look at all the Maya Road Dies. They are 25% off with coupon code DIESOFMARCH.  You can find them all here!

Bloom with Maya Road

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I have a project to share with you today that I created on a Maya Road Wood Pallet. The wood pallets come in a number of different sizes and there are few new sizes being released later this month. I am also giving you a sneak peak at a new die set, Flowers, also releasing soon!

Here I am using the 4" x 4" Wood Pallet. My first step was to add a coat of gesso to the wood and let it dry. Then I simply used distress inks and a blender to add the greens and blues to the wood. Once I was happy is the background color I splattered white paint on the pallet.

Here's a closer look at the new Flowers Die. I cut each flower twice and layered one on top of the other. I created the centers with the dies and Resin Mini Mums in Turquoise Sea. In the center I added  a Felt Rose.

I die cut the leaves from felt and added a Feathered Friend Resin Embellishments in Buttermilk. The sentiment is included in the Flowers Die Set. I cut it once from cardstock and once from a light weight chipboard and adhered them together for a little more depth. I finished off the pallet with a few clear sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Gift Card Holders

Hi! I am up on the Maya Road Design Team Blog today sharing a couple of projects.  But sure to stop by the blog for lots of inspiration!
I like to have some small gifts ready to go for those special people in my life that I want to send some holiday cheer and just say thank you. Like my hair stylist who keeps my hair looking great all year! I usually pick up a few gift cards and to make those gift cards a little more special I create a few gift card holders. I have two ideas to share with you.

First up is a card with a pocket to hold a gift card. I cut patterned paper for the card front and a second pattern paper, shorter in length, to form the pocket. To attached the pocket to the card front I used a double sided tape down each side and across the bottom, leaving the top open to form the pocket.
I used the Enjoy Coffee Die Bundle to die cut the coffee cup and spoon. I used a corrugated paper to cut the center strip on the cup.

I added a Metal Charm to the center of the cup. I wanted the metal to be a little more gold so I inked the metal with gold pigment ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is cut with the Merry Christmas Steel Dies

For my second project I created a tag to hold the gift card. I covered a tag with patterned paper and formed a pocket like I did on the card. I added an eyelet to the top of the tag and and strung Twine Cording to tie the tag to a package.

The larger deer is die cut with the So Deer Steel Die from kraft card stock and I added a little glitter to the deer. Then I attached a smaller Oh Deer Resin Charms in Cream. The word "wish" and the star are die cut with the Fanciful Wish Steel Die from gold, glitter card stock.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I have inspired you to get creative with gift card holders!

I created a tag for a teacher gift inspired by the inspiration photo.

The apple is die cut with the Apple Stacklets from Taylored Expressions. The sentiment is from the TE Toe-Tally Awesome Stamp Set and cut out with the Stitched Banner Stacklets. I cut a heart from glittered stock with the Heart Stacklets.

I added a little wooden owl from my stash and the button and ruler are from Maya Road

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Unicorn

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog!  It is time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Unicorn.

I hope you get a chance to play along. The LEAD of this challenge will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge. I didn't have any unicorns in my stash so I took inspiration from the colors in the inspiration photo, using some pretty products from Maya Road

I cut two doilies with the Vintage Doilies Steel Dies and layered them under the card stock. I watercolored the tags with a mix of pinks and peaches. I loving this color combo!

I used two metal embellishments from Maya Road, the Hello Clip and the Embossed Metal Leaf. I wanted the metal to be gold so I embossed the metal with gold embossing powder. I added a Felt Rose in Fuchsia Pink, a token from the Wood Hey Girl Tokens, a two Resin Mini Mums in Porcelain Pink. I finished the card off with gold sequins for Pretty Pink Posh
