Sweet Stack

It is the last Tuesday of the Month and time for a new cardmaking kit from Taylor Expressions. With the new Sweet Stack Cardmaking Kit, you can create interactive birthday cards that pop open into a festive four-tier cake or a playful stack of presents. The new kit is available now in the TE Store.

The kit works perfectly with any birthday stamps or dies you already I have in your stash. On the front of my card I used the Iced, Iced, Baby Die Set to create this fun cake. I used Banana Cream, Rose Water, Fruit Punch, and Sugar Cube Glitter Cardstocks to build the layers of the cake. I cut the frosting from Chocolate Truffle Cardstock and added Glossy Accents to add shine to the frosting.

I created the candles with the new Make a Wish Die Set, available for purchase separately from the kit. I added the flowers with the Garden Variety Dies and sentiment is from the Big Birthday Hugs Stamp Set. I added a few Rainbow Tiny Diamonds to the frosting that are included in the kit.  The background is embossed with the Mini Meadow Embossing Folder.

When you open the card it pops up! The kit includes laser cut panels that can be stenciled with the Sweet Stack Layering Stencil to create either a cake or presents. Here I created a cake and add the frosting with a die from the Sweet Stack Die that is included in the kit.

Another option is to purchase the Party Pop Up Die which gives you the option to use other colors of cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Piled High Birthday Stamp Set that is also included in the kit.

Next I used the Hooray Hat Die Set for the focal point of my card front. I used a color combo of Salt Water Taffy, Confetti Cake, Mint Julep, Wintergreen, and Sour Gummy. I used TE Felt at the top of the hats.

The background is embossed with the 3D Embossing Folder - Party Parade and the sentiment is from the Piled High Birthday Stamp Set from the kit.

On the inside of this card I went with stacked presents look. I used Party Pop Up Die to die cut using Salt Water Taffy Cardstock.

This is another sentiment from the Piled High Birthday Stamp Set.

The Interactive Release at Taylored Expressions

Hi and thanks for stopping by today. I have some fun cards to share with you today that are created with new, innovative products from Taylored Expressions. All the new products are available now in the TE Store

This a long post with lots of information! Let's start with a look at the Lightbulb Moment Die Set and the Pear Blossom Press EZ-Light 2 Pack.

There are three dies that create the lightbulb and three different options for the filament die in the center of the lightbulb, along with the die that cuts the place to put the Pear Bloosom Light under. Beside the filament die I used there is a heart and a lighting bolt.

I die cut the center lightbulb from Sugar Cube cardstock, blended Banana Cream Ink over the white, a then some glitter. The outside lightbulb is die cut from Banana Cream Cardstock. I used black glittered cardstock for the screw in portion of the lightbulb.

Once I had my lightbulb assembled I added vellum under the cut for the light and then a Pear Blossom Press EZ-Light under the vellum. Behind I lightbulb I added foam tape to make room for the EZ-Light.

The sentiments are from the Light It Up Stamps Set and die cut with the coordinating Light It Up Dies. The stamp set also included the small stamp that stamps Press. So fun!

I used the Here Comes the Sun Stencil with Banana Cream, Potato Chip, and Cupcake inks to create the background.

Next let's take a look at the On the Curvy Track Die. There are four dies in the die set giving you different options for the shape of the track. I decide to create a card with Gus & Gertie swimming in the ocean with the Gus & Gertie Stamp & Die Combo - Make a Splash.

First I created the water by blending Confetti Cake, Rock Candy, Blueberry, and Blue Corn Inks. I stamped the fish with the fish stamp in the Turtle-y Awesome Stamp & Die Combo in Blue Corn Ink and splattered the background with white ink. Next I die cut the track. Be sure to keep the die cut to layer back into the card.

I wanted to show how I added the tape. You will add a On the Track - Spinners and Sliders Discs. I used a slider disc which fits between the two sides of the die cut. You need to be sure you leave enough room for the disc to move.

I created the sky with Salt Water Taffy Ink and the Set the Scene - Rolling Clouds Stencil Strips. I added the sun with the Circle Stacklets. I used Toffee Cardstock for the sand, ripping the top edge and blending Toffee Ink.

The card front is die cut with the Squiggle Stacklets.

My final project features the Pout & Polish Die Set. I went with a non-interactive card on this one. You could make the card interactive by using the On the Curvy Track Die and have the brush come out of the bottle. But I wanted to give you ides for using the dies on a standard card. There is also a sentiment set that coordinates with Pout & Polish Dies, the Glow Big Stamp Set.

I used Confetti Cake, Fruit Punch, and Lavender Glaze Cardstock with TE Happy Medium - Iridescent Glitter for the bottles of polish. I added the border at the bottom with the More Easy Edgers Die St. I used the Arched Stacklets Dies and Petite Scallop Arched Stacklets Dies to create the background to add the polish bottles. The flowers are die cut with the Garden Variety 1 & 2 Die Sets.

I used Black Licorice Cardstock for the card front and stenciled with the Take Two - Pretty Polka Stencil with Sugar Cube Ink.

Spooky and Bright

I love when it time to start creating for Fall! Today I have two Halloween cards to share with you that I created with with new products from the Papertrey Ink August, available now in the PTI Store

My first card features a night scene that is created with the new Bright Night Stamps and Dies. This set comes with two different sizes of lanterns, both with a variety of faces to choose from for the pumpkins. PTI is also offering new battery operated lights that are slim enough to slide  right into your card. I added mine on the larger lantern in the middle.

I created the background sky with Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Seedless Preserves, Villainous Potion, and Black Soot. Once I blended the inks, I spritzed the background with water and splattered white paint. At the bottom I added a sentiment from the stamp set and then used the Grassy Edges Die.

Here you can see how the battery operated light shines through up behind the lantern.

I don't know exactly why, but I love cup stamps and dies. Now I have a fun one for Halloween! This card is put together with the Witches Brew Stamp Set and Dies. The set contains cups in two sizes and I love the cute moon and stars stirring stick,

To create the background I used the new Elegant Edges: Spider Web Die and added gold foil behind the die cuts.

The card is framed with the largest die in the Border Bling: Skinny Star Frames Die. I will sending this card to one of my girlfriends!

Thanks for stopping by! You can find all the new release products here.

Interactive card designs with Taylored Expressions

Today Taylored Expressions is releasing some new products to create interactive card designs. You can also incorporate a number of the products with your traditional card making. I have three cards to share with you today to give you an idea of how the products work together.

My first card uses the new Theater Fold Frame Die. First I stamped the Confetti Background Stamp on Salt Water Taffy Cardstock in Lollipop, Lime Zest, Lemon Meringue, and Cookie Monster Ink. Then I used the die to cut the frame and the window. There will be videos on the TE Blog to give you instructions on putting the card together.

This is how the card looks when it will pulled open. You can purchase the Theater Fold Flaps that are pre-scored for you in Sugar Cube and Toffee Cardstock.

On the inside of the card I added the candles and sentiment from the new Oh My Word-Happy Birthday.

Here is another Theater Fold Card using the new Oh My Word-Thank You Stamp Set and Die. I stamped the thank you sentiment on Fruit Punch Cardstock, with Versamark Ink and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. The frame is stenciled with the previously released Best Buds Stamp and Stencil Combo.

On the inside to the card I stamped, colored, and die cut flowers and leaves with the Full of Flowers- Singles Stamp Set and Dies.

The sentiment is included in the Oh My Word-Thank You Stamp Set.

On my final project I used the new Oh My Word - Hello Stamp Set and Dies, creating a traditional A2 Card. I stamped Hello in Versamark Ink on Blue Raspberry Cardstock and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. I stamped the cute phones in Oreo Ink and colored with Copic Markers.

The circle is die cut with the Stitched Circle Stacklets and matted with the Petite Scallop Circle Stacklets.

I created the background by stamping the phone stamp on the diagonal with Mint Julep Ink on Mint Julep Cardstock. At the bottom I stamped a sentiment from the the Oh My Word - Hello Stamp Set.

New Father's Day and Pet Themed Products Releasing from Taylored Expressions

Hi All! I will be popping in over the next few days to share new release products from Taylored Expressions. We have new products for you favorite pet lovers and all the men in your life! All the new products will be available tomorrow, May 19th at 9 AM CST in the TE Store.

Today I am showcasing the new Treetops Background Stamps, In the Treetops Edger and Swing Dies, the new Swinging By Stamp Set and coordinating Swinging By Dies

I started by stamping the Treetops Background Stamp in Oreo Ink and colored with Copic Markers. To add the texture to the tree I added a little Copic Blending Fluid to a piece of Terry cloth and dabbed the terry cloth over the Copics. I love the effect, just start out lightly so you don't remove too much of the color. Then I die cut the tree and the swing with the Treetops Edger and Swing Dies.

I stamped the colored the sweet owl from the Swinging By Stamp Set and die cut with Swinging By Dies.  I used a combination of foam, foam circles, and the On the Right Track Discs to allow the swing to move from right to left. You can watch a video on how the TE Foam Circles and On the Right Track Discs are used to create this interactive card HERE

I die cut the grass with the Build a Scene - Grassy Hills Die. In the center of the grass I stamped a sentiment from the new Swinging By Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. The butterflies are die cut with the Little Bits - Butterflies.

Here are the links to the products I used to create my card.
Stop by the TE Blog for all the details on the new products and inspiration from the rest of the Design Team. I will be back tomorrow with a look at more of the new goodies!
