The Great Cover-up Challenge at Papertrey Ink

Hi Everyone! Welcome to our latest episode of The Great Cover-Up over on the Papertrey Ink Blog! Today Wanda and I are challenging you to create a patriotic themed project. Stop by the PTI Blog for all the details on how you can play along.

I started by creating the basic elements to make my card and playing around with the layout. My truck, flag, and stars are created with the Patriotic Dies. I like to cut the fenders and door out twice and adhere to the two die cuts on top of each other to add more depth to the card. The truck is ink blended with Dark Indigo Ink and spritzed with water.

To create the top of the card I cut a piece Stamper's Select White Cardstock, stenciled clouds with Spring Rain Ink and splattered the background with gold paint. At the bottom I added a piece of Bitty Big: Dark Indigo striped paper and I framed the card with the Border Bling: Skinny Star Frame Dies.

I added just a drop of glue to hold the twine in place and the added the stars over the twine. The sentiments are created with the new Freedom Sentiments Stamp Set and Dies. I stamped with Versamark Ink on Dark Indigo Cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge! Stop by the PTI Blog for all the details.

Ink to Paper Sneak Peeks Day 3

I am back today for Day 3 of the Ink to Paper May Release Sneak Peeks. Today is all about celebrating America and the 4th of July.  Everything will be available for purchase beginning at 10 PM EDT on May 15th!

My cards are created with the new Love to Layer: American Flag and To Die For Sentiments: God Bless America Die. There are three die included in the  Love to Layer: American Flag Die, making this flag quick, and easy to put together.

For the front of the card I die cut the previously released Border Bling: Twinkle Die from Stamper's Select White Cardstock and added a panel of Dark Indigo Cardstock behind the stars.

I attached the flag to the card front with foam tape and added the sentiment with the To Die For Sentiments: God Bless America Die.

On my second card I wanted to make the sentiment the focal point of my card. So I cut a piece of vellum to go over the flag.

I die cut the sentiment twice, once from gold glittered cardstock and once from Pure Poppy Cardstock. I glued the two die cuts together, slightly offsetting the two colors.

Thanks for taking a look! I will be back tomorrow with my Day 4 Sneak Peek. Stop by the Papertrey Blog for more more inspiration with the new products.

Happy 4th of July!

Hi! All the new patriotic-themed products from Taylored Expressions are available to purchase right now in the TE Store.  Many of the new products can be used throughout the year! Today, I have more inspiration to share with the new Masking Stencil - Stars.

I made two cards with the stencils included in the Masking Stencil - Stars, going patriotic with a red, white, and blue theme! Makes me look forward to summer and backyard barbecues.

On my first card I used the large star stencil. I cut a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock and stenciled in Watermelon Ink. The I masked off the star with the mask included in the set, and blended Blue Corn Ink.

Next I cut a panel of Sugar Cube Cardstock with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and embossed the Cardstock with stars with the Lots of Stars Embossing Folder. I cut a star directly into the card front with the Star Stacklets. I used the largest die in Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets to frame the card front.

The sentiment in the star is stamped with the Handlettered 4th of July Stamp Set and die cut with the Handlettered 4th of July Dies. The bottom sentiment is included in the new Mini Strips - Patriotic. The sentiments are stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed in TE White Embossing Powder on Blue Corn Cardstock. I added a little sparkle with the Bits & Pieces - Drip Drops.

On my second card I cut a piece of Toffee Cardstock and lightly stamped the star background in the new Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo in Sugar Cube Ink. I stenciled the three larger stars in Sugar Cube, Blue Corn, and Watermelon Ink. Then I masked off the the three stars and stenciled the smaller stars.

Celebrate Freedom is included in the Handlettered 4th of July Stamp Set and die cut with the Handlettered 4th of July Dies. All the smaller sentiments are included in the new Mini Strips - Patriotic Stamp Set and die cut with the Mini Strips Die.

Get the Stars & Strips Bundle for only $30 from June 2nd - June 7th (or while supplies last). And no, that's not a typo... it's STRIPS for the sentiment strips! The Stars & Strips Bundle includes the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil combo and the Mini Strips - Patriotic stamp.

Fireworks and Wild Flowers - Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks Day 3

Hi and thanks for stopping by for another sneak peek at the Taylored Expressions June Release. Today I have a 4th of July project and a beautiful new background stamp to share. All the new products will be available tomorrow morning starting at 9am CDT Thursday, June 6th.

My first card showcases the new Light Up the Sky Stencil. I start with a piece of Gumball Cardstock for the card front. Then I blended ink in Gumball, Blueberry, and Blue Corn to create the night sky. Then I used the stencil with Craft Deco Foil Metallix Gel in White Pearl. The sentiment is from the new Handlettered 4th Stamp Set. I stamped on Vellum and embossed with TE Gold Embossing Powder.

At the bottom of the cards I added the cityscape with the Downtown Border and the Downtown Border Underlay. I finished off the card with a few red sequins.

Next is a look at the Wildflower Background Stamp. I colored the image with Copic Markers but you could keep it simple and just stamp or embossing the background. I added a few butterflies with the the Little Bits - Butterflies. I die cut the butterflies from vellum and added ink to the backside of the die cuts.

The sentiment is from the Simple Strips Background Stamp and die cut with Simple Strips Die. A much have! I also added a few Snow Flurries Sequins.

Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks - Day 3

It's Day 3 of June Release Sneak Peeks at Taylored Expressions! This new release will be available starting at 9am CDT on Thursday, June 7th. I have two more project sto share with you today. The first one features the new Sending Sunshine Stamp Set, a great all occasion sentiment stamp set.

I used the new Bubbly Stencil, Guava Ink, and a Blending Tool to stencil the background. I mentioned yesterday how much I love this stencil. I can't wait to create an underwater scene. The balloons are created with the Bold Balloons Die and the Balloon Strings Die.

I die cut the word sending with the new Sending Script Die from Guava cardstock, my new favorite color! I used the new Sending Script Backing Die cut from Rock Candy Felt to back the sending sentiment. The Sending Script Backing Die is a mixed media die which allows you to get a clean cut from a variety of products. The sentiment is from the Sending Sunshine Stamp Set and die cut with the Double Ended Flag Stacklet.

My second card is created with the new Freedom and Fireworks Stamp Set. I stamped the fireworks on watercolor paper in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE Gold Embossing powder.  I created my night sky with the new TE Liquid Watercolors. I am really excited about these new watercolors. They are so easy to use, fun to play with, and match TE cardstock and inks. For this background I used Cookie Monster, Blue Corn, and Oreo Liquid Watercolors.

I created the city scape with the Downtown Border and Downtown Underlay Die, using TE Gold Foil for the backing. The sentiment is from the Fireworks Stamp Set, stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE Gold embossing powder.
