The Great Cover Up

Hi everybody! I am up on the Papertrey Ink Blog  today for the next episode of The Great Cover-Up!  This weekly feature is all about adding layers and dimension to cards and also how to combine older products with newer products. Stop by the PTI Blog for all the details on how you can play along! 

My Great Cover-Up Project today is all about ways to add layers and dimension to a card for visual interest. I built the card around the “Sending Sunshine” sentiment from the Brighter Days Stamp Set. 

First I created the bouquet of flowers with the Brighter Days Stamps and Dies.  The sentiments are included in the stamp set. I stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. 

.I created the frame with the Border Bling: Skinny Diagonals Frame dies.  I added foam tape to the back of the frame to add dimension. 

To create the background I masked off a circle and blended Bright Buttercup Ink to create the sun. I blended Lemon Tart and Simply Chartreuse Ink on the rest of background and splattered white paint. 

I finished off the card with a few clear dots.
