Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge - Playing with Metal

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! I am excited to be Guest Designing for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog this month. It's been fun Gloria! Thanks for having me!

Here's the new challenge. Do you hoard gears, pins, brads, eyelets, frames, and other metal do-dads? Do you have a thing for tiny light bulbs and glass vials? Do junk drawers make you giddy? Do you hang out in office supply stores so you can score funky paperclips? Do bottle caps make you swoon? Dig through your hoard to find something metal or glass (or both) and make a project to share!

And I have to say I so love metal embellishments! I definitely tend to hoard them!

And here is the gift set I created based on the challenge. I started by just going through my stash and pulling out some metal embellished, flowers, stick pins, buttons, and resin embellishments that I thought might go together. And then I just starting playing!

The tag is die cut with MFT's Pierced Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics and the pattern paper is from Tim Holtz. The doily is die cut with the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics and the sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

The box is a round cardboard box you can pick up at your local craft store. I covered the sides and top of the box with patterned paper  and added ribbon around the rim . Then I just played with the embellishments until I came up with a mixture that I liked, using my glue gun to adhere the items to the box.

Be sure to stop by the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog for more inspiration. I hope you get a chance to play along.

  4. I fell in love with your submissions for the April challenges because everything you do looks so perfectly finished, soft and vintage. That altered metal tin is a work of art, and the tag makes me fairly giddy. Every element perfectly placed...sigh....so lovely! Thanks for joining us as a guest designer at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!
