July Day 2 - Tropical Sensations

Thanks for stopping by for Day 2 of MFT's June Teasers! I have a scrapbook page to share today using the new Mona Pendleton's new stamp set, Tropical Sensations and the coordinating Die-namics, Tropical Sensations, along with a new MFT Stencil.

I started with a piece of 12 x 12 yellow card stock and painted the center of the page with white paint. It tones the yellow down a little and I love the white washed effect. Once the point was dry I stitched to card stock to a piece of kraft card stock.

The next step was to used the Petal Pattern Stencil and light molding paste to create the pattern on the page. After the molding paste had dried I sponged on ink in Banana Split, Sour Apple, and Sno Cone, and highlighted here and there with Blu Raspberry and Gumdrop Green.

I used the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase and Lowercase to spell out Napali using corrugated paper. The word Coast is created with the Typewriter Alphabet Stamp Set using Gumdrop Green Ink. "Enjoy the View" is from the LLD Document It - Expand Your View Stamp Set.

Here is a closer look at the stencil pattern. I love the effect and it is easy to do. Just pick up some molding paste at an art store and give it a try!

I added the flowers with  Tropical Sensations Stamp Set and the  Tropical Sensations Die-namics. I also cut some leaves from burlap to add a little more texture. (You can find my tutorial on working with burlap HERE.)

This sentiment is from the stamp set and cut out with one of the dies in the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics.
