MFT's May Creative Challenge

Welcome to MFT's May Creative Challenge!

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, April Showers bring May Flowers!  Look forward to an assortment of flower-filled creations from today's participating designers.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have a project to share with you today.

For the challenge I created a scrapbook page using the beautiful Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics.

This is first time I used a light molding paste with a stencil. I love the effect! First I marked on my page where my photos would go and then added the music paper. Then I spread a light layer of molding paste on the stencil. I allowed the paste to dry for a while and then used my heat gun.

I used Gelotos to added the shading. This is how it looks before I used water.

I used a paint brush to spread the color, but you don't want your paint brush to get to wet when you are working directly on card stock.

In the corner I used the negative of the word "love" cut out with the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics in Electric Red Card Stock.

I used the Large and Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics to create the flowers. I used Electric Red and Lemon Drop Card Stock. On the yellow roses I sponged on MFT Ink in Orange Fizz.

The flourish is cut with the Large Leafy Flourish Die-namics. I also added a few sequins.

Here is a closer look at the molding paste. The sentiment is from the Complimentary Greeting Stamp Set.
