Hi everyone! If you are wondering where I have been I took a little blogging break to take an amazing vacation! Once my husband and I got our last daughter through college we promised ourselves we would start traveling. When I our daughter Lisa took an internship in Germany we decided to was time to go to Europe. We traveled for 2 1/2 weeks just my husband and I and then met Lisa and our daughter Kayley in Munich for another 10 days of travel.
I took 1,442 photos! No, I am not going to share all of them! But I thought I would share a few highlights.
We started our adventure in London. My sister Michele lives in London in an flat on the Thames River. We only had a couple of days in London but it was wonderful to have time with my sister. It had been raining for 15 days straight but we did get a peek of blue sky.
Here is picture and my sister and I. We had a nice girls days while my husband went to Liverpool. He is a musician and a huge Beatles fan so he could not go to England without going to Liverpool.
The next part of the trip was spent in Italy. Our first stop was Rome. We saw all the major historical sites, including the Colosseum, the Forum, and the Vatican.
Here we are in front of the Trevi Fountain. I just feel blessed to get to see so much history in person! I really enjoyed all the art museums. Michelangelo and Da Vinci's works of art in person!
Some of the best time was spent wondering wonderful little streets filled with outdoor cafes, flowers, markets and shops.
From Rome we went to Florence. This was my favorite city in Italy, beautiful and romantic! Seeing Michelangelo's David in person was an honor.
We loved our wine tasting tour in the Chianti region of Italian wine country.
Our final city in Italy was Venice. When you get off at the train station in Venice you have to hail your water taxi to take you to the hotel. We took a gondola ride of course!
From Venice we took a train to Munich. My daughter Lisa had been doing a four month internship in Garmisch at the base of the Alps on a military base working with the children there. She meet as in Munich, along with our daughter Kayley.
The girls were so happy to see each other! Munich is a beautiful city, so clean and organized! Believe me you don't want to drive in Italy! We took the tour bus, went to a couple of museums and enjoyed the beer gardens.
Our next city was Prague. I know I have shared with you before that my daughter Kayley spent a semester abroad in Prague during her Junior year of college. She feel in love with the city and now I know why! This a picture from the bridge she walked to go to school. She was so excited to show us the city.
This is where she lived, up on the third floor.
This is a picture from Old Town Square in Prague. Prague was never a city I dreamed of seeing but I just loved it there.
Our final city was Paris! We had three full days but it wasn't enough! There is so much to see you need at least a week. Our favorite day was spent at the Palace of Versailles. Photos cannot begin to do it justice! The gardens and and fountains at the Palace will be one of favorite memories from the trip.
The last day of our trip was my husband's birthday. That night we went out for an amazing seafood dinner and then went up in the Eiffel Tower at 11:30 pm. The Eiffel Tower is lit up at night and at midnight all the lights twinkle. It was the perfect end to a truly amazing adventure!
So now I need to get over jet lag and get my stamping mojo back! I am really happy to be home and missed my stamps and Copics!! I will be back in a few days with new release projects to share with you.
