Here is my take on the sketch challenge, created with the new B is for Birthday Stamp Set.
I stamped one of the images in the B is for Birthday Stamp Set in Oreo Ink and colored with Copic Markers. I die cut the image with the Stitched Circle Stacklets and add a little Potato Chip Ink to the edges. Inspired by the sketch I used the Striped Background Stamp to add the striped pattern and then embossed a panel of Cupcake Card Stock with the Graphic Impressions - Birthday Embossing Folder.
The sentiment is from the new Simply Said - Said Birthday. I stamped the sentiment in Sugar Cube ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I finished off the sketch with a few Enamel Shapes.
Today we're rounding out our 9th birthday celebration by having a little fun with a scavenger hunt! My first card uses the new Big Blooms - Sunflower. I decided I wanted to watercolor the flower so I stamped sunflower on watercolor paper in Sugar Cube Ink and embossing with white flowers. Next I masked off the flower where I wanted to stamp the leaves, embossing the leaves too. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paints.
The sentiment is die cut with the the Thanks Script Die and I attached a few Snow Flurries Sequins.
My second card features the new Sympathy Cutting Plate and Blooms Overlay Dies. I know it can hard to make a sympathy card but I think this cutting plate is beautiful. I die cut the plate with Sugar Cube Cardstock. Behind the image I added a panel of vellum and then Earl Grey Cardstock.
Next I used the Blooms Overlay Dies. These dies can be used alone or can be added to the matching elements on the cutting plate. This adds color and dimension to the project. I added White Enamel Shapes to the centers of the flowers.

ReplyDeleteI love those B Is For Birthday stamps! So fun! Like I said earlier, they remind me of "SchoolHouse Rock"! Lol!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards! Your Birthday card is so cheery & fun with all of the colors and different layers with that image! I love the sunflower card!! I'm liking the watercoloring over white embossing, it softens it compared to using a dark color yet it glows! So pretty and great pairing with the Thanks die. Beautiful Sympathy card, I love your accents of soft color with the flowers overlay on it.
ReplyDeleteCute and beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love the W-wish birthday card. I must have this stamp set. Your sunflower is gorgeous, love the watercolor. It is beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Melody! Love the embossed panel you added behind the sentiment. Such a cool effect. The sunflower card is just amazing and I love the soft colors you used for your sympathy card.
