MFT's Dienamics Design - Express Yourself

Thanks for stopping by for MFT's February Die-namics Design Challenge. This is a new monthly challenge!

Words are the foundation of card design. We all love a beautifully crafted design but the sentiment is really what makes a hand-made card special.  Word Die-namics are such a valuable tool as they can be used to create layered die cuts for added dimension, to create peek-a-boo effects, as a mask for different coloring mediums, and so much more. This month, our team is featuring the incredible versatility of word Die-namics.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for the list of all the designers sharing projects today.

My first card uses the "Happy" sentiment from the Happy Die-namics.

First I used the Herringbone Bricks Stencil and Lemon Chiffon Premium Dye Ink to sponged the background pattern on the front card panel. Next I die cut the word "Happy" directly into the card front. Then I cut "Happy" three more times from Sno Cone, Berrylicious, and Tropical Teal Card Stock. Then I cut and layered the three colors to give the rainbow effect. The the word is inlayed directly into the cut on the card front.

The balloons are added with the Balloon STAX Die-namics. The sentiment is from the Happy Everything Stamp Set and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set and added the word "Happy" that was cut from the card front.

I have been taking an On Line Card Classes where they did a similar technique with die cut words. I used the Happy Hellos Die-namics, cutting the words hello and hi a number of times each. I used a Adhesive Sheet when I cut each word so that they would be easy to adhere. The white on white gives an embossed effect.

I used the Layered Rose and Royal Leaves Die-namics to create the flower embellishment. The sentiment is from the Snowflake Splendor Stamp Set, cut out with the Circle STAX Die-namics and layered on a circle cut with the Stitched Circle Die-namics.

On the inside I added a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

Here are the products I used to create my cards:
