MFT's January Creative Challenge - Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve

Card makers are a pretty sentimental bunch overall and that is a great thing. We spend our time showing family and friends (and sometimes strangers!) that we care deeply for them. This month, we’ve challenged our team to embrace this season of love full-force by creating projects that feature love in the most literally way: with lots of hearts. Any color, any material – hearts will stand strong as a dominant design element that simply can’t be missed.

You can stop by the MFT blog for the list of designers sharing ideas today.

Here's my take on the challenge. I started with a gift bag and used the Background Hearts Stencil and Ripe Raspberry Premium Dye Ink Pad to add interest to a plain bag.

To create the to front panels of my card I die cut Whip Cream Card Stock with a die from Blueprints 20  and the stitched panel from Blueprints 13. Yes, this one of the many reasons I love the Blueprints line of Die-namics! I added hearts to the Pink Lemonade Card Stock with the Tiny Hearts Background Stamp and Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink

I used Spearmint Card Stock and the Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-namics to add the strip of card stock across the middle of the card.

The circle embellishment is created with the Sheet Music Background Stamp, a heart from the All My Love Die-namics, the Little Numbers Die-namics, the  Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows Die-namics, and the Circle STAX Die-namics.

Well I needed a few more hearts to go with the theme! The layered hearts are cut with the Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics. The arrows are added with the Straight to My Heart Die-namics and the sentiment is from the All My Love Stamp Set.

On the inside I added another sentiment from the All My Love Stamp Set.

Here's a closer look at tag. I cut two hearts with the Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics from felt in Bubblegum and Whip Cream. I used the  Tiny Hearts Background Stamp with Spearmint  Premium Dye Ink and Spearmint Card Stock for the background pattern.

The center panel, along with the word sweet, are cut with dies in the Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics. The flower embellishment is created with the Layered Rose, from burlap, and Royal Leaves Die-namics.

Here are the products I used to create my projects:

  1. This has got to be the sweetest little gift set I've ever seen! I love your playful color palette and designs for both the card and tag. Who wouldn't love to receive such a gift! My daughters birthday is on Valentine's day but I'll just send you my address now. ;0)
