MFT's 5 Days to an Organized Crafty Stash Day 1 - Stamps

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT's 5 Days to an Organized Crafty Stash! What a great way to start the New Year! Each day this week the MFT Design Team will be sharing their ideas with you to organize a different product. We are starting with organizational ideas for your stamp sets.

You can stop by the MFT blog for the list of designers sharing ideas today.

I realized I HAD to get organized after spending at least 45 minutes looking for a particular die, then ordering a new one, and then finding the older one!!

My basics of my organizational system is based on a tutorial written by Jennifer McGuire. I use two different size envelopes that you can purchase from MFT, the Clear Pocket Storage - Large and the Clear Pocket Storage - Small. I used a Brother P-Touch Label Maker and 1/2" Black on Clear Label Tape that I purchased through Amazon.

I use a clear Freezer Storage Bin, also purchased from Amazon

Here is a closer look at the label I created for the front of my bin using my label maker, the Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX and an arrow in the Go with It Die-namics.

The dividers are cut from Sno Cone Card Stock and I rounded the upper two corners. I used my label maker to add titles to each each section. I grouped them by designer or type of stamp set. I also have a section for stamp sets that have a Die-namics set that coordinates with the stamp.

You can also used labels prepared by MFT. You can find them HERE

I back the inside of each clear pocket with white card stock. It just makes it easier to see clear stamp sets. I buy an inexpensive white card stock at Michaels. I can get two backings for the larger envelopes and two for the smaller envelopes out of each piece of 12 x 12 card stock.

For stamp sets that have coordinating Die-namics I store the dies behind the stamp set.

My large 6 x 6 Cling Rubber Background stamps are stored in a decorative clear container. They are very easy to flip through stored this way.

Stop by the MFT blog for all details about the great prize packages that will be given away each of the five days.

If you have any questions for me, please email me using the link on my side bar. Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with another organizational post.
