A Couple of Challenges

Hi Everyone! It has been a little quiet here this past week. Don't you hate it when life gets in the way of stamping!!!

My card today uses two challenges. The beautiful color scheme comes from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge, which is a inspiration challenge. I used Inspiration 1. The sketch is based on Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #67.

This is the first time I have had a chance to ink up this pretty Flourishes stamp, from the stamp set From My Garden. I colored with copics and cut it out with my nestibilities. I did some machine stitching around the edges and on the middle panel.

The pretty paper is from Memory Box. I added lace, ribbon, and a bird charm from my stash. The edges are sponged with Tim Holtz distressing ink in Tea Dye.

Thanks for stopping by. My Favorite Things Teasers start on Saturday!!

JustRite Mega March Blog Hop Day 2!!!

Welcome to Day 2 of the JustRite Mega March Blog Hop. I am so honored to be included in today's hop with so many wonderful stampers. For my project I chose to work with the set Stitched with Love, one of my favorite JustRite stamp sets.

I stamped the heart image first, colored with copics and then stamped the flower again, cut it out and popped it up. The I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a Nestabilities.

In keeping with the sewing theme, I made a paper quilt for the background, cutting squares and sewing them together. Then I added lace, ribbon, and buttons threaded with twine to finish off my card.

Here is a close up look. You can see how the flower is popped up and accented in the center with a button. To make the heads on the pins, I used very small pearls and colored them my copics.

Now for the details for the hop:

30 designers, FIVE shopping sprees each day. No one knows where the prizes will be! Each day of the hop JustRite will have five Mystery Blog Candy Prizes hidden along the hop with a total retail value of $600. JustRite will randomly select five mystery blogs each day of the hop and randomly allocate each of the shopping sprees. For your chance to win, simply leave a little love (a comment) on each designer’s blog including the JustRite blog. The more designers you leave comments with, the better your chances of winning. Each day’s comments will remain open for three days. A winner from each of the mystery blogs’ comments will be randomly chosen using Random.org. Consult the listing of designers at the JustRite blog each day (each day’s designers will be different) and start out on your way! Beginning Friday, March 26, summaries of all the winners will be posted on the JustRite blog. Good luck to everyone and enjoy all the JustRite eye candy along the hop!

Today during the JustRite Mega March Blog Hop (Day Two) JustRite and its sponsors will be giving away the following five prizes:

· $200 JustRite Shopping Spree
· $100 Spellbinders Shopping Spree
· $100 Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Spree, and
· Two additional $100 JustRite Shopping Sprees!

Blog comments for Day Two will be open until Friday at 6pm EST. On Saturday, JustRite will announce on their blog which five blogs have the mystery candy for Day Two. You will need to go to the JustRite blog to determine where you need to go to find out if you are one of the five lucky winners.

Hi it's me! And a DD Challenge

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. My daughter, Lisa, has been home this week for spring break, love having her around whenever I can, it is the first day of spring and my wedding anniversary. Definitely classifies as a good day!

I cannot believe I only have one month left on the Dirty Dozen. It has gone so fast and I am frankly still in awe at being included in this group of stampers. This is my take on the March Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge is hosted by Joanne and she challenged us to use either a bird or a bee in a project and the restricted element is no border bunches. You will find the rest of the DD girls projects in this gallery.

I am using on of my new Pure Innocence Stamps that I still had not had a chance to ink up, Happy Mail. She is colored with copics and her dress is paper pieced. The paper is from my new BG Kioshi paper pad. I added some stitching with my sew machine, a rhinestone bird and accents, and ribbon. The sentiment is from the PI set Heart Stripes.

Here is look at the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!

Rock On!

Wow, it has been a whole week since I had a chance to post here! But I have been madly stamping, getting my Dirty Dozen projects for March ready to go. The Fan Club projects go live tomorrow; hope you will stop by and take a look at all the wonderful work.

Today I got a chance to ink up a new MFT Pure Innocence stamp called Tweeny Tween Rock On. The inspiration for the layout comes from Jen's Saturday Sketch.

The image is colored with copics and the chair is paper pieced. The DP is from my new Pink Paislee paper pad that I got at Stampers Dream. I stamped the "Rock On" sentiment from the set around the circle. I added a zig zag stitch with my sewing machine. The wings are Maya Road that I paint off white, and then covered with Glitzy Glitter. A heart button and pretty ribbon for the MFT Winter Solstice Collection finishes it off.

Here is look at the inside.

Just Rite Gift Tag

I recently was luckily enough to be given a couple of the newly released JustRite stamp sets. I am excited to finally have some time to ink them up. It is raining here this weekend, giving me a good excuse to stay home and stamp!

Today I made a tag for the challenge this week on the JustRite Blog. I hardly ever make tags, and now I am wondering why. This tag just makes a simple gift bag something special.

For this project I am using one the stamps in the set, Breath of Spring. I colored the flowers with my copics and added dots of glitter to look like dew drops here and there. Then I cut the image out with my nestibilities. Then I stamped one of the border stamps and cut it out. I covered a tag with flocked paper, added lace, ribbons, and a button tied with twine to finish it off.

Here is a closer look at the tag.

MFT March Hop and Shop

Welcome to the MFT March Hop and Shop. If you just come upon my blog and want to start at the beginning, hop on over to Kim's blog. If you came here from Frances's blog you are in the right place.
Tonight I used the new Hearts Sings Jolinne set. I think she is just so cute and I love the music notes included and in the set. You can find Jolinne and all the new releases right HERE!

For my card, I used the sentiment that is included in the set and added music notes to each end. I used chipboard wings and a heart for the center of the card. I painted the wings white, and cover them with Glitzy Glitter. This is the first time have used this glitter and I love it. Not only is it pretty and sparkly, but it sticks really well to the glue. I didn't have glitter all over myself!!

Here is my inside. I stamped Jolinne on the inside and cut around her legs.

Next I made a chipboard purse to hold my gift. Perfect for an ipod gift card and some favorite treats. The purse shaped chipboard I had picked up at Michael's a whiLe back for $1.00. I covered the chipboard with papers that coordinated with the card. I colored the image with my copics, paper pieced her dresses, and then cutting her out with my nestibilities, using my embossing pad on her legs so they did not get cut. Then used scissors to cut around the legs.

Here is the side view. I made a little box to attach the purse chipboard to. I used a sheet of cardstock cut to 10" x 7 1/2" and scored on each side at 2 1/2".

Now it time to hop on over to Julie's blog!!! I know this talented lady will have something wonderful to share!!

Thanks!!

MFTeasers Day 5

Today is the last day of the March MFTeaser. Today we are previewing Who's That Birthday Girl, Invitation Only, and Clearly sentimental about Birthdays. Be sure to stop by Kim's Blog today after 11am to see the full list of designers with previews today.

And then be sure to join us for the release party at 8:00 pm EST in the MFT forum at Splitcoaststampers.

I really LOVE this month's Who's That Girl. It is just perfect for so many occasions. Today I made a card with a matching gift card holder.

For the card, the skirt is paper pieced, and then I stamped the cake on patterned paper, cut it out, and popped it up and added rhinestones. For the sentiment I cut a circle from Kraft paper, stamped the candle around the edge, and then sponged the edge with distressing ink. The sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays set. Then I stitched around the edges, and added lace strung with twine for the Bakery Blend Ribbon collection.

The sentiment on the inside is also from the Clearly Sentimental About Birthday and is just one of the many wonderful sentiments included in the set.

Here is the gift card holder I made from a small kraft envelope. I paper pieced the cake, added candles, and then the rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you back here tomorrow night for the Hop and Shop blog hop!

MFTeasers Day 4 - Jolinne

Last month MFT introduced a new line of stamps named Jolinne. This month there will be two new stamps in this line being released on Wednesday night. Be sure to stop by Kim's Blog today after 11am to see the full list of designers with previews today.

Today I am previewing the set named Jolinne - Best Friends Always. I colored her with copics and then I masked the main image off and sponged the sky with Tim Holtz distressing ink in Tumbled Glass.

Next I made a sun by cutting a circle with my nestibilities, embossing a circle two sizes smaller than the first circle, and cutting triangles to form the rays. I added a couple of felt clouds, and the tied a ribbon around the card.

Here is the inside of the card, including one of the sentiments included in the set.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have one more teaser tomorrow, and then I hope you will join us at the release party on Wednesday night at 8:00 pm EST time in the MFT forum at Splitcoaststamper.

MFTeasers Day 3 - Pure Innocence

Welcome to day 3 of the March MFTeasers. Today we are previewing three new Pure Innocence stamps, A Boy and his Dog, and Tweeny Teen. Be sure to check Kim's blog at 11:00 am EST for the designers sharing projects with these CUTE stamps!

First up for me is the Pure Innocence stamp, 4 Leaf Clover. The image is colored with copics and her pants are paper pieced. I used yellow distressing ink on the background and I added a rhinestone to the clover. I created a sun by cutting a circle and small squares that I layered around the edges. A couple border punches, ribbon, and a button finishes it off.

Here is a look at the inside.

Next up, A Boy and his Dog - Dog on Cute. He too is colored with Copics and his shirt is paper pieced. I added baby braddies from the Chocolate Kiss Collection as buttons on his overalls. To frame the image I used burlap that I sewed onto a scrap of paper and then frayed the edges. I added some stitching to the edges and added buttons laced with twine

Here is the inside with the cute sentiment that comes with the set.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have another peek tomorrow.
