Bloom with Maya Road

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I have a project to share with you today that I created on a Maya Road Wood Pallet. The wood pallets come in a number of different sizes and there are few new sizes being released later this month. I am also giving you a sneak peak at a new die set, Flowers, also releasing soon!

Here I am using the 4" x 4" Wood Pallet. My first step was to add a coat of gesso to the wood and let it dry. Then I simply used distress inks and a blender to add the greens and blues to the wood. Once I was happy is the background color I splattered white paint on the pallet.

Here's a closer look at the new Flowers Die. I cut each flower twice and layered one on top of the other. I created the centers with the dies and Resin Mini Mums in Turquoise Sea. In the center I added  a Felt Rose.

I die cut the leaves from felt and added a Feathered Friend Resin Embellishments in Buttermilk. The sentiment is included in the Flowers Die Set. I cut it once from cardstock and once from a light weight chipboard and adhered them together for a little more depth. I finished off the pallet with a few clear sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pocket Tags

Hi Everyone! I just popping in a few ideas for gift card tags created with products from Taylored Expressions.  I have two tags to share, one with a holiday theme and one for a birthday. They are quick and easy to make for any occasion.

The base of each tag is created with the Tag Pocket Die. I cut the die twice, once from cardstock to foam the tag and once from a patterned paper to line the inside of the tag. After I attached the patterned paper I used Sticky Tape to foam the packet, using the score line created with the die.

I used the Stitched Circle Dies for my circles. The sentiment is from the In & Out Christmas Stamp Set and the hat is cut with the Little Bits - Santa Hat Die.

Here I used a sentiment from Simply Stamped - Cupcake and the Little Bits - Cake & Stand

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Icicle

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog!  It is time for the first  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge of the New Year! We are starting out with the Icicle Challenge.

I hope you get a chance to play along. The LEAD of this challenge will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge. I was inspired by the pretty shades of aqua and white and a little bit of sparkle.

I created the snowflake with the Reverse Confetti Layered Snowflake Confetti Cuts. I added a little sparkle with glittered card stock and rhine stones. I mount the snowflake on a decorative circle cut with the Reverse Confetti Lacy Scallop Confetti Cuts

The patterned paper is from the Reverse Confetti Very Merry 6x6 Pad. The sentiment is from the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Wonderland Stamp Set.

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions

It's release day at Taylored Expressions! All the new January products are available at the TE web store NOW.  I have two cards to share today showcasing a number of the new products.

My first card features the new Cloud Nine Background Stamp and the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo.

I do love to create my own backgrounds and the new Cloud Nine Background Stamp is prefect for that! I used watercolor paper and my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp the clouds. Because watercolor paper has more texture I like to stamp the image twice and the Misti makes this so easy. I stamped with Sugar Cube Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Next I added color to the background with Distress Inks in Stormy Sky, Broken China, and Seedless Preserves.

Next I stamped and colored the two unicorns in the Dreamer Stamp & Die Combo. At the bottom of the card I added the clouds with the Build-a-Scene Rolling Clouds and stamped a sentiment for the set.

On my second card I am using the new Inspire Watercolor Panels. No stamping, just add color! Here I used Zig Clean Color Markers.

The background is embossed with the new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder and I added the flower in the corner with the Bloomers 1 and Greenery Dies and TE Felt

Thanks for visiting! If you'd like to see more projects and new product information, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete list of our participating designers!
