MFTWSC161 - Celebrate Your Special Day

Hi and thanks for stopping by today. I finally got a chance to play along with this week sketch challenge at My Favorite Things

I hope you get a chance to play along for a chance to win a little spending money over at My Favorite Things.  Remember to check the MFT Blog for all the details and to find inspiration from the MFT Design Team as well as all the MFT Fans too!

I am continuing my quest to stock up birthday cards for the year! I cut the background pattern with the Swiss Dots Die-namics and Sno Cone Card Stock

I created the sweet vellum pocket with the Treat Pocket Die-namics and dropped a few sequins inside the pocket and then used micro glue dots to adhere the sequins on the outside of the pocket.

The birthday sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Steel Gray Ink, and cut out with the Pierced Oval STAX Die-namics. The long banner is cut with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and the little doily is cut with the Delicate Doilies Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

CTD277 - Senior Picnic

Thanks for stopping by for Color Throwdown 277! This week is Broni's turn to host the challenge and here is the pretty, soft inspiration she chose for us to work with this week.

I have a 12 x 12 scrapbook page to share using this week color challenge. I will admit that I sometimes I struggle working with pastel colors. But I love the soft, girly feel of my page which makes me think I need to push myself out of comfort zone more often!

Inspiration for my layout comes from the February Sketch Challenge at Scrap 365

Once I decided on my basic layout I used the Concentric Circles Stencil to add some pattern to the background of my page, using Berrylicious Ink. Any patterned paper is from Prima.

At the top I used the Cloud Trio Die-namics to add the three clouds and the Accent It - Story Starters to add the sentiment.

I added the page title with the Little Letters Die-namics, using corrugated paper to add some addition texture, along with a little machine stitching.

I love how this sweet embellishment came out and who doesn't like a picket fence! I used the Picket Fence Die-namics and Whip Cream Card Stock to create the fence. The flowers are cut with the Layered Rose Die-namics from Pink Lemonade Card Stock and Razzle Berry Felt. The leaves are cut with the Layered Leaves Die-namics and the white flower is from my stash.

You do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge,  just use the closest you have.  Use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD277.  Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! It's Friday and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend for a change!

I got a chance to make another Valentine's Day Card last night when I came home from work.

I am play along with a couple of challenges. I used Mojo Monday #329 for the layout of my card and used the Curtain Call Challenge for creative inspiration.

I started by embossing the background of my card with the Hug & Kisses Cover-Up Die-namics, using Smooth White Card Stock.

I used the Distressed Hearts Stamp Set and coordinating Distressed Hearts Frame Die-namics for the center embellishment. Then I layered the heart and the frame on a circle, cut with the Circle STAX Die-namics and the larger die in the Dainty Doily Duo.

The sentiment is from the stamp set. I added a few sequins from my stash.

Here's a look at the inside using additional stamps from the Distressed Hearts Stamp Set
