Thoughts of You

Happy Friday! I am so looking forward to the three day weekend. I have been in a five day conference all week and boy it it hard to sit still that long!

I have a card to share today that I made with one MFT stamp and a few dies.

I used the Teardrop Tree Topper Die-namic to create my tree and add three MFT buttons in Wild Cherry. Behind the tree I added a sun with the Sunshine Die-namics.

The hill is hand cut and the sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set and cut out with one on the dies in the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics. The bottom border is cut with the Small Scallops Border Die-namics.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend. I will be working on new release projects so I will have lots to share next week.

Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge - August

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

Here is our challenge for August:

PROJECT RUNWAY! Do you watch this show? It's perfect for creative types like us! On PR, the designers are given crazy challenges each week and asked to maintain their own personal style or point of view in their creation.

So, what's your stamping style or point of view? Would you consider your style to be CAS (Clean and Simple), Cutesy, Graphic, Vintage, Elegant, Layers & More Layers, or what? Describe it any way you like, it's your style after all! Today's challenge is to show us a couple of different projects using the same supplies. Show us one CAS card and one Fancy Fold card while still retaining your own personal style as much as possible.

Well, I guess I would have to say that my stamping style leans toward Elegant. Sometimes it is Elegant with a touch of vintage, or Elegant with a touch of whimsy. On Project Runway I think they would call it Classic with a twist. Sewing was my first creative outlet so maybe that is why I love a little machine stitching on my projects.

CAS is SO hard for me!! I think it takes me longer to come up with a CAS card than a card full of layers and details! The supplies for my projects are the Rosy Posey Stamp Set and coordinating Rosy Posey Dies and papers from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Pad - The Sweetest Thing - Honey.

My sentiment is from the stamp set. For my CAS card I used the solid image stamps from the set and die cut the flowers and leaves. I added just a touch of stitching and a scalloped border cut with the Medium Scallop Border die

For my Fancy Fold card I created a Criss Cross card. You can find a great tutorial on how to create this card at Splitcoast right HERE.  I love this style card. Along with a notecard there is room to add a gift card or small treat to the inside of the card.

For this card I used the stamped the roses and colored them with Copics. I mounted the roses and leaves on a doily cut out with the Layering Doily Medium Die. Then I added ribbon and machine stitching.

I created a notecard to fit inside the card and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set. I added a tab cut with the Keeping Tabs Die

I am excited to hop along and see what the other Baker's Dozen Design Team Members have to share about their styles!

Make It A Year to Remember

All the schools in my area went back to this week. This summer seemed to fly by! Keeping with a school theme, I have a card to share today with Taylored Expressions Moka Gwen. So cute!

Inspiration for my card started off with this week Sketch Challenge at Card Positioning Systems, CPS. I used the Notebook Border Die along the left edge of my paper. My paper are from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Pad - School Daze. I finished the card off with ribbon and machine stitching.

She is colored with Copics and her skirt is paper pieced. I sponged on some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

I added a sentiment from the stamp set on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your weekend is getting off to a good start.

MFTWSC86 Dream

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. It's week 86 of our MFT'S WSC Getting Sketchy Challenge. We have another fun sketch for you to play with this week!

You can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, MFTWSC86. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

I used this week's sketch for inspiration for a 12 x 12 scrapbook page. The pictures are from Partnach Gorge in Garmisch, Germany when my daughter was doing an internship.

The bottom border edge is cut with the Wavy Edge Die-namics. I love the edge border dies because they are great for cards but you can also run the die through your die cutter twice to create an edge for a scrapbook page.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Sentiments 6th Birthday Celebration Set and cut out with the Designer Label 2 STAX Die-namics.

The snowflakes are cut with the Let It Snowflake Die-namics out of white, glitter paper. I also added a rhinestone swirls. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and have been in my stash for a while.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Hope you have a chance to play along!

Pinwheel Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a nice weekend. Today I am sharing a birthday card using Taylored Expressions Pinwheel Parade Dies as the centerpiece.

First I cut the one of the larger and one of the smaller pinwheels in the die set out of double sided patterned paper. I used a rhinestone brad to hold the two pinwheels together. I added the handle using a wood craft stick and adhered it a doily cut with the Layering Doily Die - Medium.

The sentiment if from the Spring Tulip stamp set. I added lace, machine stitching, and a scalloped border cut with the Medium Scallop Border
