MFTeasers Day 2 and Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the States. I hope you have a FUN filled day! I am having 40 people to my house for a barbeque and swim party. And then we all sit at the end of my driveway and watch fireworks that go off at the park that is about a mile away.

Today Teasers included Fred Bear Hits the Beach and Clearly Sentimental About Summer Vacation. Stop by Kim's blog at 11 am EST to see all the designers who are posting Teaser today.

My card uses Clearly Sentimental About Vacations and TWO of the new Dienamic Die Cuts, Banner Day and Open Scallop Border. My DP is Webster Pages and the swim suit is a Jolee set I have had in my stash for who knows how long!!

I used my Banner Day Die and the new Banner Day Alphabet for my banner and strung the banners and bathing suit on twine. The banners are popped up. I also used the Sunshine and Scalloped Scallops Dies and MFT Cork Sheets on my card.

Here's a closer look. I added some sewing and a button to my sun.

On the inside I stamped "in the sun" with the Banner Alphabet and another one of the sentiments from Clearly Sentimental about Summer Vacation.

Here are some details you should know:

Release party is from 8-10pm on July 7, at the Member Company Forum on SCS.

Also, I hope will you stop over at MFT Forum at Splitcoast to get all the details on this months Guest Designer Challenge. Megan and I are the hostesses this month!

This month's challenge is a color challenge inspired by Canada Day on July 1st and Independence Day on July 4th. Use any neutral with RED and/or BLUE. I hope you will play along for a chance to win the Guest Designer spot for August and $100 worth of stamps from next months release!

So here is my take on the Color Challenge!

Okay, right off I have to say I loving the new Banner Day die cut! Perfect for cards and I can't wait to use it on a scrapbook page! The die has three shapes, two banners, one slightly bigger and a topper for each banner.

The new dies just go perfect with the new stamp set Banner Day Alphabet! I used a PI called Dog on Cute for my card. He is colored with Copics. I added some sewing and twine to my banner. The stamp set also includes numbers that I used for my sentiment.

Here is a close up look at the banner.

On the inside I just used the number 2 for the set.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the Guest Designer Challenge! I will back tomorrow with another teaser.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!!!

Happy Birthday to Kim (aka The MFT Lady) !! We are celebrating with a Birthday Blog Hop! Kim's actual birthday is on July 5th, but with the long weekend and MFT July Teasers starting on Saturday, we are starting the celebration a little early.

I first got to know Kim as a customer and big MFT fan in the forums at Splitcoast. I was lucky enough to get to meet and spend time getting to know her in person at the Winter CHA. She is just so sweet, talented, creative, FUN, and supportive! I feel very lucky to be part of her MFT Design Team.

I decided to chose one of my favorite Who's That Girl stamp, maybe not one would think about for a birthday card, On the Pier.

The image is colored with Copics and colored pencils and her shirt is paper pieced. The background is sponged. I used the Die-namics Jumbo Ric Rac Die Cut for my border. The sentiment is wonderful for a birthday I think! And is included in the set. I added lace, sewing, and a button from the Earth Girl Collection tied with twine.

Here is the list of the other designers who wanted to help celebrate Kim's Birthday! I can't wait to see what they all created. And be sure to stop by Kim's Blog to wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
HAVE FUN!

I have been trying to make a little stash of Thank You cards, just to be sure I have them on hand. For my card today I used the flower pots that are included in the set, Jolinne - In My Garden. I colored them with Copics and colored pencils, cut them out, and mounted them on some October Afternoon DP. Sewing, lace, buttons, and ribbon finish it off.

On the front and inside of the card, I used the sentiment set, Thanks a Bunch.

The challenge this week in the MFT Stamp Club is to use felt and/or cork on your project. You can stop by MFT Forum at Splitcoaststampers to get all the details, including a chance to win a $15 gift voucher! Here is my take on the challenge. The layout is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 144.

I used the new MFT set, Jolinne - In My Garden for my project. She is colored with Copics and Prism Colored Pencils and the background is sponged. I added stitching around the edges. My sun is made with the Die-namic Sunshine and the felt from the Banana Split Collection. For the bottom border I used the MFT sheets of cork and the Jumbo Scallop die.

Her dress is paper pieced, the sentiment is included in the set. I added a few rhinestones for a little bling.
Here is my inside. The cute little flower pot is also included in the set.

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it!

A Book Lovers Birthday

The challenge this week at Just Rite Stampers is to make a bookmark, a perfect challenge for a little birthday gift I need for a friend this weekend. She loves to read, so a new bookmark and gift card will make a perfect present!

I used the Just Rite Stamp set called By the Sea. I got this wonderful set a while back and this was my first chance to ink it up!

The image is colored with Copics and I used a white gel pen to highlight the waves. I stamped the sentiment on Kraft with red ink. The layout for my card is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #74. I added stitching around the edges, added a little lace, and a charm tied on with twine.
On the inside I made a little pocket to hold a Barnes & Noble gift card and used a sentiment from the Just Rite sentiment set, Just a Note.

I mounted my bookmark on a thin piece of chipboard. I used paper to coordinate with the card. I used the lighthouse image from the By the Sea set. I added a little more twine, sewing, and some ribbon at the top.

Hope you are having a good week. Thanks for stopping by,
Melody

A Scrapbook Page

Long before I starting making cards, I was a scrapbooker. And since my addiction to making cards started I have not done much scrapbooking. This year I have been trying to scrapbook a little more, but incorporate all the great cardmaking supplies I have purchased.

This is my daughter Lisa's senior picture from high school. For my layout I used the challenge at the PageMaps blog. Hey, just like card making, a great sketch can give you lots of inspiration! My papers are Basic Grey, Wisteria. I added stitching with my sewing machine around the edges and on my border pieces.

I used chipboard letters that I colored with my Copic, E51, so they were not so white. I make the border using MFT Dienamics Scalloped Scallop and Jumbo Scallop.

The three sentiments are from MFT'S Clearly Sentimental About You. I love these sentiment sets for scrapbooking!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you all get to enjoy Father's Day. We are having a barbeque and swim party for all the the fathers in our family.
