Sending You Sunshine!

Hi and Happy Friday! We actually have sunshine today! Such a nice change from the overcast skies we had lately. Today I have a card to share with you that screams summer! Sun, sand, and surf! I created the card with products from Pretty Pink Posh.

Let's start with the fun background. I used the the new Tropical Leaves Stencil with ink and a blending brush for the card front. I think this makes a fun background. Next I cut the larger die in the Window Frames Dies to cut the window directly into the card front. I added foam tape behind the window to add dimension to my scene. Behind the window I used a strip of Kraft Cardstock for the sand and created the sky with distress inks.

The girl and the beach ball are from the Summer Friends Stamp Set, the palm tree from the Tropical Birds Stamp Set, and the surfboard from the Summer Surfboards Stamp Set. All the images are colored with Copic Markers. The first part of the sentiment is from the Tropical Birds Stamp Set and "sunshine" is die cut with the Sunshine Script Die.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend and enjoy the your summer!

Taylored Expressions New Blending Brushes - You Are Simply Fabulous!

Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes are here! The Blender Brushes are designed specifically with the paper crafter and cardmaker in mind! They are perfectly sized. There are 10 brushes in the set and they all have white bristles so that you can see exactly what ink color you used on them. I love the rainbow-colored handles so that I can dedicate each brush to a color family. There is a spinning brush caddy available as well to keep all of the brushes organized and they look so cute on my desk.

Well I just had to update this post because the brushes were such a success they sold out!! We're doing our best to get them restocked quickly! But you can head to the product page to sign up to be notified as soon as they are restocked.

There are many different uses for the Blender Brushes. On yesterday's post I used the brushes with a stencil. Today I used the brushes to color my images. I stamped the Big Blooms - Daisy iStamp in Versamark Ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder.

Then I used the Blender Brushes to blend the inks on the embossed images. This a quick and easy way to color an image with a beautiful effect. After I was happy with my ink blending I die cut the flower and the leaves with the Big Blooms - Daisy Die

Behind the image I used the new Wavy Stripe Stencil with the yellow handled Blender Brush and Potato Chip Ink. The sentiment if from the the Simple Strips Background Stamp, stamped in Versamark Ink on Oreo Cardstock and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. The sentiment is die cut with the Simple Strips Dies.

Taylored Expressions New Blending Brushes !!!

I am so excited so share a new tool Taylored Expressions is launching today! Our very own
Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes! TE has designed the perfect set of blender brushes with fine, WHITE bristles, so you can see what color you're blending, rainbow-colored handles, the perfectly sized brush head, all the same size, and a spinning storage caddy for pretty display!

I LOVE the new brushes!! They are so soft, they blend beautifully, and they look so good in their caddy on my desk. I also have a new stencil to share, the Scattered Floral Stencil! I used the stencil and Blending Brushes with Guava, Potato Chip, Confetti Cake, and Granny Smith Inks.

I die cut a circle of vellum with the Stitched Oval Stacklets. I created my scene on the vellum with the Folk Art - Spring Dies, the Bloomers Greenery, and the Mini Bloomers 2. The flower at the bottom is cut from felt, adding a little more interest and texture.

The sentiment is from the Simple Strips Stamp Set and die cut with the Simple Strips Dies. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder.

It's June Release Day at Taylored Expressions!

Hi and thanks for stopping by! It's June Release Day at Taylored Expressions. All the new products are available at the TE web store NOW. Today I have two more projects to share with you. It's all about Mermaids!

I love the Be A Mermaid Stamp Set. I love the simple elegance of the tail. On this card I started by creating the background with the Rainbow Waves Background Stamp. I cut a piece of watercolor paper to fit the card front, stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE White Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored the background with TE Liquid Watercolor in Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest, and Pineapple.

The tails are die cut and sponged with ink in Blueberry, Blue Raspberry, an Lime Zest. I cut the solid tail from TE Gold Foil and layered the tails, one on top the other. As a mother of four daughters I love the sentiment included in the Be a Mermaid Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and embossed with TE Gold Embossing Powder. The final touch are a few Snow Flurries Sequins.

I used the Be a Mermaid Stamp Set and Dies again on my second card along with the new Build a Scene Waves. I stamped the sand in Toffee Ink on Sugar Cube Cardstock. With this stamp set you can control how wide the foam is. I stamped the water in two colors, first in Sprinkles and then again in in a light coat of Blueberry Ink. Then I used the die in the stamp set to cut the paper to insert the tails. I added the sunset with the Here Comes the Sun Stencil.

The tails are stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I sponged on ink to add the color. The sentiment and shells are included in the stamp set.

Make a Splash! Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks! Today my cards are all about summer fun, water, sand, and mermaids! All the new products will be available starting at 9am CDT Thursday, June 6th.

My first card features a number of new products. Let's start with the background I created with the new Build a Scene - Waves Stamp and Die Set. This is such a creative idea! First I stamped the sand in Toffee Ink and added detail to the sand in Chocolate Truffle Ink. Next I stamped the water in Sprinkles Ink. The set comes with two dies that allow you to cut a slit in the waves to insert a stamped image! I used the Here Comes the Sun Stencil to add the sunshine.

I stamped a couple of the cute critters from the Floaties Stamp Set, colored them with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Floaties Dies. The sentiment is included in the Floaties Stamp Set, stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I added the pail with Little Bits - Pail and Shovel.

My second card features the new Splash Stencil and one of my very favorites from the new release, the Be A Mermaid Stamp Set. To create the background I cut a piece of watercolor paper to fit the card front and used the Splash Stencil with iCraft Deco Foil Metallix Gel in White Pearl. There are three new Liquid Watercolors being released this month, Pineapple, Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest. They are so pretty together. I used all three to added the color to my background.

Next I die cut the mermaid tail with the Be A Mermaid Dies. I brushed Lime Zest Ink on Sugar Cube Cardstock for the tail and backed the tail with Sweet Mint Felt. Inside the circle I stamped the water with Make A Scene - Waves Stamp and Die Set. The circle frame is die cut with the Inside Scallop Circle Stacklet and the Stitched Circle Stacklets. The sentiment is from the Be A Mermaid Stamp Set.

Hey Crafty Friend! It's Day 1 of Taylored Expressions June Release Sneak Peeks

Hi Everyone! I am starting out the month of June with a new release from Taylored Expressions I am really excited about! It is full of summer inspiration including the 4th of July, a splash theme with mermaids and floaty critters, a crafty theme, and our new interactive gatefold reveal concept! All the new products will be available starting at 9am CDT Thursday, June 6th.

Let's start with a look at the new Gatefold Reveal Die and the Better Half Cutting Plates. To create my card I cut a piece of 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" cardstock for card base and then scored at at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".  Fold the ends of card to the middle. Next I cut the Better Half Cutting Plates from Sugar Cube Cardstock and added the dot pattern from the Black and White Playful Patterns Paper Pack behind the die cuts. Then I attached the panels to the front of the card.

I cut a strip of vellum to fit around the card to hold it shut and added the sentiment. The sentiment if from the new Crafty Friend Stamp Set. I stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I added the cup of paint brushed with the new Do Something Creative Stamp Set. The sentiment is die cut with Stitched Circle Stacklets and matted with the Petite Scallop Circle Stacklets.

Here a look at what the card looks like when you open it. The new Gatefold Reveal Die makes putting this together so easy! So perfect for all your crafty friends!!

Continuing with the crafty theme, my next card is created with the Do Something Creative Stamp Set and Do Something Creative Dies. I colored the images with Copic Markers and added some highlights and patterns with a White Gel Pen.

Behind the desk I added a striped wallpaper with the Striped Background Die and I added the woodgrain to the desk with the Woodgrain Background Stamp and Sea Salt Ink. So cute!
