Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. I have another fun sketch challenge today. It's week 96 of our MFT'S WSC Getting Sketchy ChallengeYou will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money.

For my take on the sketch I am using the Big Greeting Stamp Set and the Banner Day Die-namics. My papers are from My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing Tangerine. I used MFT cardstock in Kraft and Sno Cone. I added machine stitching and Bakers Twine in Mandarin Orange.

I added MFT Buttons threaded with Hemp cord. The circle peeking out at the top is created with one of the dies in the Mini Doily Circle Die-namics and one of the smaller circles in the STAX Circle Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the stamp set.

MFT October Creative Challenge - Banners

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create a custom banner using our assortment of STAX Banner Die-namics.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I love decorating my mantle for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, so I decided to create a fall banner for this challenge. Here is how the banner looks hung on my mantle.

I used the Jumbo Banner Day Die-namics for the the base of each pennant. Each one is a little different for the other. I used papers from LilyBee Harvest Market.

In the corner, on each side, I added three leaves with the Fall Leaves Die-namics. I stamped a script on one of the leaves with stamps from the Thankful Leaves Stamp Set

The center on each banner panel is created with the smaller die in the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics, a circle die for the Circle STAX Die-namics, and letters cut with dies from the High Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics

Here I added a flower with the Sunflower Die-namics and added an MFT button to the center.

I went through my stash and pulled items I though might be fun to added.  I created with flower with the Pretty Posies Die-namics. The topper on each banner is cut with a die included STAX Banner Die-namcis from corrugated paper.

Here I added another sunflower, a pumpkin cut with the Primitive Pumpkin Trio Die-namics. I used MFT Cork for the base of the banner on the right.

Here's the last banner panels. Here I added more leaves, one cut from burlap and another sunflower. I am really happy with how the banner came out. I will use it for years to come.

Baker's Dozen October Studio Challenge

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for October is:

Good things come in small packages!  The holiday season is upon us and between Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, and Christmas there are a ton of opportunities to create and give little treats, gifts, and party favors.  Please show us something you'll be giving this year.

I usually begin in October creating some Christmas packaging to have ready to go in December when I need it. Here are three different packaging ideas I like to have in my stash.

First up is gift bags. I like to use these to dress up any handmade food items I give to friends and family.  It might be caramel corn, cookies, or fudge, but the dressed up bag makes the gift a little more special. I try to keep the bags simple, quick, and easy. Here I used the Trim a Tree Die Set to create the Christmas tree and then I just added red rhinestones.

The border is cut with the Medium Scallop Die. The papers are from Echo Park, This 'n That Christmas. I used the American Crafts Glitter Tape in Brown Sugar at the top of the border, a quick and easy way to add bling.

I also like to have tags ready to go. They dress up even the simplest brown bag. This bag is the Mini Kraft Bakery Bags Taylor carries in the store. The base of my tag is cut with the Take Note Frame 3 Die. I used a stamp from the Totally Tags Holiday Stamp Set and cut it out with one of the Totally Tags Dies. I layered the small tag on a doily cut with  the Layering Doily Small.

I like to decorate a few small cloth pins to attach my tag with. I just covered the front of the pin with American Crafts Glitter Tape in Brown Sugar and created a snowflake with the Make A Snowflake Die.

Here is a cute, little tin, just the perfect size for a gift card. I love this because it make giving a gift card a little more personal. Taylor carries this small hinged tin in the store, along with the Gift Card Frame Die. I created a Poinsettia using the Peaceful Poinsettia Stamp Set and the Poinsettia Dies. The flower is layered on a doily cut with the Layering Doily Small Die.

Here is a look at the inside. I used the Banner Day 1 Die and the sentiment is from the Banner Holidays Stamp Set.

I started out as a scrapbooker, before I got hooked on making cards! I have to say, I am very happy to be scrapping again. I plan to do some 12 x 12 pages and some Project Life type pages. With all the wonderful Die-namics that are available, I won't have any trouble coming up with my own embellishments!

I used three different embellishments to come up with my corner accent. The sentiment is from the LLD Journal It - Top Ten Stamp Set and cut out with a die from the Accent It - Flags and Tags Die-namics. I layered the sentiment on a sunflower that was created with the Sunflower Die-namics. The I used the Fall Leaves Die-namics to cut the leaves from patterned paper. The veins on the leaves are stamped in brown ink with stamps from the Thankful Leaves Stamp Set.

Here the sentiments are from the LLD Document It - December Stamp Set and cut out with dies from the Accent It - Flags and Tags Die-namics.

I created my journaling card with the Die-namics LLD Insert It - 3x4 Insert. My scrapbook book papers are from Simple Stories Harvest.
